MY Pari Runs Aground Off Cap Ferrat                       View stunning pictures of the rescue here
The 39m Motor Yacht Pari ran aground on the 'Rompa Talon' rocks off of Cap Ferrat in the early hours of Saturday 30 May 09 in strong winds and rough seas. A dramatic helicopter rescue took 5 crew and two guests off of the boat whilst the captain remained on board.
Superyacht Pari Heading to Genoa  Liveyachting.com 11 Jul 09 Motor yacht PARI has now been wielded up at Villefranche dry dock and is heading to Genoa for a full repair. The superyacht had been damaged and holed so severely that she required 14 wielders working around the clock for 3 days to merely patch her up for the journey to the Amico shipyard in Italy, a journey which began on Thursday. Apparently the yacht insurance company, Pantaenius, has been instrumental in the organization of the salvaging of PARI. Yacht Designer.

SuperYacht Pari Plucked From Rocks Superyacht News 30 Jun 09 Pari, the 39.8m Maltaese registered Alucraft motor yacht has been freed from the rocks on which she was aground having dragged ashore to Villefranche in the early hours of Saturday 30th May. Commander Michael Healy formally the owner of Rivera Charts in Antibes and now a yacht reporter with Riviera Reporter described the removal of the yacht from what he calls the Mirabella-Five rocks, a remarkable salvage operation, and adds that the weather has remained favourable throughout the period since her stranding. French Fuel Pumped and Anti-Pollution Barriers on Yacht Pari  Meretmarine.com 05 Jun 09 The removal of 30,000 litres of fuel and other combustibles from the grounded 40m yacht Pari, began Wednesday. The fuel had to be removed before any attempt to refloat and salvage the vessel. Before the operation began, anti-pollution barriers were installed around the yacht.

Conflicting reports of pollution from grounded megayacht Pari  BYMnews.com 02 Jun 09 There are conflicting reports as to whether the megayacht Pari, which went onto rocks off St. Jean Cap Ferrat on Saturday morning, at 4h30 am, is leaking fuel. Official reports say there has been no leakage, but a megayacht captain who visited the scene told BYM News that the smell of diesel was strong. Cathy McLean.

Yacht still stuck  Riviera Radio 02 June 09 A superyacht remains stuck on, rocks off Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Attempts to refloat the vessel were put on hold as further checks are made of the hull.

French Photo Yacht Runs Aground At Cap Ferrat  TF1 30 May 09 The 40m motor yacht Pari run aground in rough seas and 25 knot winds on the 'Rompa Talon' rocks off Cap Ferrat in the early hours of Saturday 30 May. Five crew and two guests, all Germans, were evacuated by helicopter.

Antibes Yacht Show 2009

The 3rd annual Antibes Yacht Show (AYS) took place in Port Vauban, Antibes 2-5 April 2009. After a rainy start Friday morning, the show enjoyed fine weather and good attendance. The AYS heralds the opening of the Mediterranean yachting season. For the first time this year, the AYS has its own TV channel, 'Antibes Yacht Show Television'. The 39m Motor Yacht Pari ran aground on the 'Rompa Talon' rocks off of Cap Ferrat in the early hours of Saturday 30 May 09 in strong winds and rough seas. A dramatic helicopter rescue took 5 crew and two guests off of the boat whilst the captain remained on board. Pari was eventually refloated in a delicate operation 27 Jun 09 and towed around Cap Ferrat to Villefranche pending further inspection and repairs. We have all the news and a video clip.
