Following his Fragments project that received global media attention, Monaco based Canadian sculptor Blake reveals a new series of marble sculptures at Art Monaco '10. With his Fragments project (see video clip,) Blake poignantly applied the classical partial body form to benefit a cause that aims to avoid the further maiming of bodies caused by the legacy of landmines, left behind long after armed conflicts have been resolved. Following recent successful exhibitions in London and New York, Blake's elegant new series sculptured in Carrara marble, will be exhibited at Art Monaco '10 Contempoary Art Salon in the Grimaldi Forum 29 Apr - 02 May 10. Blake is represented by Kehrig Fine Art.

Blake Evokes Ancient Rome in Monaco  Fr2day.com 28 Apr 10 A new set of marble sculptures by Monaco based sculptor, Blake, is set to be unveiled at the Monaco Art Fair at the Grimaldi Forum, in Monte Carlo, April 29th until May 2nd. It's presented by Kehrig Fine Art. Blake, who's previous exhibitions include the much acclaimed ‘Fragments' - inspired by landmine victims - brings a contemporary feel to sculptures that ‘evoke art-historical precedents from Ancient Greece and Rome through the Italian Renaissance and France in the 19th and early 20th centuries'.
