Masonry becomes official in Monaco RLTV 15 Oct 10
A reliable source has revealed to RivieraLife.tv
that Monaco is to make official its first Masonic
Lodge. Up until two years ago Freemasonry in Monaco
has existed under the constitutions of other
countries. English, German and USA Lodges have
regularly held meetings in Monaco. Our source
comments, “The church of Rome who have had great
influence in Monaco have strongly resisted any such
policy to regularise these practices, that is until
the recent succession to the Monegasque Palace of
his Serene Highness Prince Albert II, following the
death of his father Prince Rainier III, in 2005." |
|
"History records the Vatican's feud with the Knights
Templar, bringing the latter into near extinction,
and that the Vatican believe that such practices are
contrary to Christianity.”
Our source continues, “For close on two years the
Palace of Monaco have been seeking to regularise
Masonry. Lengthy discussions with French
Masonry (whose controlling body is GLNF - Grand Lodge Nationale Francaise),
ended without agreement
as the demands
from the reigning Grand Master were considered
unreasonable, subsequent discussions with UGLE
(United Grand Lodge of England), under the Grand
Master the Duke of Kent took place and have
successfully concluded.”
The new Lodge will be consecrated
by the United Grand Lodge of England at a
ceremony on 19 February 2011 attended by senior
Masons from around the world. This new constitution will be known as Grande Loge National Réguliére de la Principauté de Monaco.
The Grand Master designate is Worshipful Brother (WB) Jean-Pierre Pastor of Monaco’s Pastor
Construction and Real Estate family. The deputy
GM designate WB is Claude Boisson. The Lodge
secretary designate is WB Frankie Nicolas.
Our source adds, “Great assistance towards the formation
of this important milestone in Freemasonry has been
given by all of the Lodges in Monaco, in particular
the Brethren and Master of the English Lodge, the
Port of Hercules Lodge.” The Port Hercules Lodge
has held monthly meetings during winter months at St. Paul’s Anglican
Church in Monaco for many years.
Press reports have previously
said that HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco had been
against the establishment of an official Masonic
Lodge within the Principality of Monaco, with
concerns about the infiltration of French masons
within the Monagasque government, judiciary and
police. The Monaco Palace has not yet responded to
requests for confirmation of this story and no
official statement has yet been released. A Monaco
official has confirmed that the decision to
constitute an official Masonic Lodge in Monaco
was made nearly a year ago, however the date of the
official ceremony has only just been confirmed.
